Dr. Aikman is one of the Principals and Director of Industrial Hygiene at United Analytical Services, Inc. (UAS).  He has 16 years of professional experience in environmental consulting, laboratory and industrial hygiene services with a doctorate in Plant Biology. Dr. Aikman has been certified by the ABIH as a CIH since 1998.  He has a strong educational background and job experience which includes working for local, state and federal governmental agencies, state and private higher education facilities, school districts, private industry, real estate, law firms and insurance companies.  Dr. Aikman has directed comprehensive microbial and indoor air quality investigations; occupational safety and health assessments for OSHA compliance; environmental site assessments; UST and contaminated soil investigations; as well as asbestos and lead inspection, project design, project management and expert services.  He also serves as the Laboratory Director at UAS and has served on the Board of Directors of the Chicago Local Section of the AIHA and as an Officer.  Dr. Aikman was the President of the Chicago Local Section in 2007-2008 and was the Treasurer from 2004-2007.
